100th Day FREEBIES Part 2!

I’m baaaaaaaaaack!

As promised today’s post has the rest of my 100’s Day files! This post houses the actual activities we do throughout the day! I mean, we have been counting to this since September… It’s kind of a big deal! Until, they realize that we have to KEEP coming to school on day 101…… That is a little bit of a let down...

We ask our families to turn in two collections for their child. Our collections are: 100 of the same items AND a collection of snacks to mix together to make “Gorp.” (Two collections can be a lot for some, so we stress the item collection and hope for a food one).

We work in our classroom to explore our collections during writing and reading. In the afternoon, we venture out to the gym where we really go wild. Students spread out and line their collections across the gym. Each kiddo brings a clipboard and a pencil to record their findings on the Collection Tree Map (included in this pack)!  Without further ado, here are the activities we do in one nice download….

This pack includes:
Parent Letters
Procedures
Inferring With Your Collection (Circle)
Comparing/Contrasting Collections (Double Bubble)
Comparing Collection Length (Tree Map)
“How To” Writing Paper (Lucy Calkins Inspired)
Graphing Gorp (Graph Paper)
Write From The Beginning Map With Gorp

I work at a “Green School” so I have this tip to share!
If you want just these maps the image will you take there! They are in the big pack too! (No need to dl twice!)

I’m off to enjoy what’s left of this gorgeous weekend! I hope your weather has been as amazing as this Michigan weather (NO snow days??!!)!

you guys are awesome!
I have actually started letting my kids make their own maps - eek!!! I know. It's not perfect, which bothers me sometimes, but with our copies being counted...yeesh! I have to give in somewhere I guess... lol
